A RAINBOW OF COLOURS
Add a dash of sass to the season of gloom – by using a VIBGYOR of colours in your makeup palette – this monsoon. Wondering how to go about it? International Makeup Expert & Guinness World Record Holder, Ishika Taneja – tells you all about it – the favourite hues of the season, their implementation and much more…
Brightly coloured peepers
Bright certainly looks more beautiful during monsoons – so when it comes to eye makeup – you can probably add some spark by using dazzling colours and let your eyes do all the talking. Play with colours such as marsalas, cobalt, turquoise & electric blues, emerald, aqua & bottle greens to take your look a notch higher. Also, make sure that all products (Liner, Kohl and Mascara) are waterproof in nature in the rainy weather to prevent your doe-eyed look from smudging away. Buy waterproof coloured gel-liners that are super-in these days and can act as kohls and liners both – for some cost-cutting in makeup. Add some more zing by using vivid hued liners in double and ombre patterns. For double liner, draw two parallel lines alongside your upper lash-line using two contrasting hues – or go ombre by sliding a single thick line in two colours – that amalgamates in the center. Just draw these & be set to draw attention from everyone!
Let your cheeks speak!
This season, allow your otherwise sober cheeks to scream for attention by using vivid pastel blush-ons. Put this to action by applying powder-based blusher to infuse a natural flush on your cheeks in this season of romance. Try subtle shades of pinks and peaches – yet be sure to choose your shade depending upon your native undertone. Select a peach hue – if your undertone is warm, or settle down for a pink blusher if you’re one with cool undertones. However, the universal rule of blending applies for all, for a softer and more natural look.
A dash of pop on the pout
Plain neutral lips are a big no-no in this sultry weather! Fulfill your colour urges with long-stay and matte-finish lipsticks in bright and poppy shades and be set to make the monsoon merrier. Also, as vivacious hues are making their mark in the fashion circuit – put them to good use by applying lip-colours in hues of crimson red, coral, marsala, mauve, lilac, etc. to emerge smooch-o-licious all the time. Make matte your best friend during the dampness – to make your lip-do melt-proof – while letting the lip-glosses completely take a back seat!
Show your true-colours by flaunting your hands and feet graciously with soak-off nail-paints in bright and neon colours that stay for more than a month. Try hues candy-pink, poppy orange, bubblegum-pink, pale peach, neon green, turquoise blue, sunlight yellow, taupe/cream, tinted tangerine etc. that are making a huge mark this season as best international colours and are sure to turn you into a diva.
